One of the foremost havens of NELA geek culture, comic book store and pinball parlor Revenge Of, just opened a tabletop gaming-focused coffee shop next door to their shop on Eagle Rock Boulevard in Glassell Park called And Destroy.
In addition to selling comic books, action figures, collectibles, and other geek paraphernalia, Revenge Of strives to be a true third space with frequent livestreams, free pinball games on Wednesday nights, pinball league tournaments, Magic: The Gathering tournaments, and much more. The addition of And Destroy next door creates a more casual daytime third space – and a much-demanded late night coffee shop – for lovers of geek culture who want a spacious place to work in, bring their children, or just kick back with the latest Cards Against Humanity expansion.

And Destroy seems like almost any other neighborhood coffee shop with a curated menu of signature drinks, classic lattes, and a pastry case populated by local bakery partners. But you never have to worry about being crammed into a tiny table with no outlets and high turnover: tables and booths are incredibly large and meant to accommodate groups of people playing board games more complicated than using Mastodon. Glassell Park itself isn’t super remote, but this stretch of Eagle Rock Boulevard isn’t as pedestrian-heavy as nearby Highland Park and downtown Glendale: this is a destination coffee shop where you come for a quick java, but stay for comparing Magic decks with friends.
And Destroy also takes a cue from their pinball-focused counterpart next door and occasionally hosts events and tournaments, which you can keep up with by following their Instagram.
And Destroy is located on 3420 Eagle Rock Boulevard and is open from are Monday through Sunday from 7AM to 10PM.
