The historic neighborhood of West Adams recently gained a new bistro-inspired bar with Damn I Miss Paris. Intended for cocktail lovers looking for a new neighborhood hotspot, this brand-new watering hole is already attracting big names.
The bar is owned by celebrity stylist Jason Bolden. A couple of his most famous clients include Gabrielle Union-Wade and Dwyane Wade. It may be located outside of the hustle and bustle of Hollywood proper, but you’re likely to see some recognizable faces popping in and out of this sophisticated, speakeasy-adjacent spot. Although their Instagram only has a few teaser images, they are already racking up the followers and tagged photos.
While the atmosphere is straight out of the City of Lights, the food and drinks are LA through and through. Unpretentious snacks fried in crispy batter populate the snack-heavy menu. Chocolate chip cookies also add a cozy and casual touch to the menu.
The juxtaposition between the laid-back menu and the classy interior is a perfect representation of the bar itself. The clientele are well-dressed and well aware of LA’s newest hotspots, but nothing about the ambiance is intimidating. It’s fun and lighthearted but undeniably stylish.
The interior features checkerboard floors, mood lighting, velvet chairs, and arches that mimic an authentic Parisian wine cave. Chandeliers hang overhead, but there is still a kind of contemporary minimalism that prevents a kitschy appearance. Reflective of their attention to detail, fresh flower arrangements are always present.
Once a hidden gem reserved for LA locals, the West Adams neighborhood is gaining more need-to-know bars and eateries by the day. Damn, I Miss Paris is only a sign of more designer dining and drinking on the horizon.
House cocktails are priced at $18.00, and bites range from $8.00-$15.00. They are located at 5162 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, and open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday from 5:00pm-midnight, Thursday from 5:00pm-1:00am, and Friday and Saturday from 5:00pm-2:00am.
