Van Dyke Coffee Roasters, a local favorite in Orange County, is expanding their presence in SoCal with a new shop in Koreatown on Olympic Boulevard. At the time of writing, the new location is still under construction and next door to Yama Sushi Marketplace which also recently opened a new location after several decades of building a dedicated following in the San Gabriel Valley.
Since Van Dyke offers Korean desserts in addition to artisanal lattes, Koreatown is a logical location for the company’s next steps. While some coffee shops set their sights downtown or nearby Silverlake, Koreatown is one of the safest bets to open a new coffee shop or expand a chain or local franchise. The neighborhood is rich in independent and chain coffee shops, where students and remote workers frequently gather for an einspanner and croffle before deciding which one is “their” coffee shop.

The Buena Park menu offers classic lattes and desserts like cookies, roll cakes, and freshly-baked scones. There are also some menu items you won’t easily find elsewhere, like a banana latte and Korean misu. The Koreatown menu is not yet known at the time of writing, but similar fare can be expected when they open.
Van Dyke Coffee Roasters prides themselves on making a fresh cup of coffee for every customer instead of batch-brewing coffee. They also sell their beans online and offer wholesale options. Look out for the new store on 3188 Olympic Boulevard this spring.
