Local favorite Badmaash, which features Indian classics and street food with some fusion and twists on tradition in a colorful Bollywood-inspired setting, is coming to the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles in June or July of 2025.
The restaurant’s best-known location is on Fairfax Avenue near trendy clothing stores and classic spots like Canter’s, in addition to a smaller restaurant on 2nd Street just outside of Little Tokyo. Badmaash’s third restaurant in Venice is in a much larger space, which will fit right into the inviting bustle of Abbot Kinney Boulevard. The small main drag of Venice is teeming with restaurants, bars, shops, and pop-up vendors, and sees a great deal of foot traffic compared to other busy blocks in Venice and Santa Monica. Virtually any empty space near the center of Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a highly strategic choice for new and experienced restaurateurs alike.
At the time of writing, Badmaash’s Venice location is currently accepting delivery orders only. While the banner says Spring 2025, their website says Summer 2025 is when they will open for dine-in service.
Originating in the 2010s by a father-son duo, Badmaash offers classic Indian dishes designed for Western palates like butter chicken and saag paneer. The menu also includes a host of innovative twists like chili cheese naan, chicken tikka poutine, besan-coated roasted broccolini, and Punjabi-style fried catfish. Both vegetarians and carnivores will find a tantalizingly spicy new dish they can’t wait to try and even the pickiest eaters can’t say no to the masala fries.
Badmaash’s new location is located on 1616 Abbot Kinney Boulevard at the corner of Rialto Avenue. Keep an eye on their website and social media for operating hours and grand opening date.
