Formerly the site of the Ellen Degeneres-endorsed vegan restaurant Crossroads, Suite A at the Commons at Calabasas will now become home to BLVD Steak in Summer 2025, a decidedly more meat-friendly establishment which already has a thriving location in Sherman Oaks.
The Commons at Calabasas, which was developed by Rick Caruso, designed by F+A Architects, and completed in 1998, combines a walkable village aesthetic with a landscaped central courtyard and pond. Inlaid brick walkways abutting the central parking lot outside of Suite A make it easy to dine outdoors.
Although neither BLVD Steak nor founder Christian Corben could be reached for comment, Corben’s Instagram account features posts that attest to a strong company culture within his restaurant empire, which in addition to BLVD Steak includes popular eateries Casita Mexican Restaurant & Bar and Taisho Japanese Restaurant & Bar.

“When we say dream team, we mean it!” Corben posted on January 3, 2025, including pictures of staff enjoying themselves at a company holiday party in a bowling alley. According to the BLVD Steak website, Corben has worked successfully within the hospitality industry for 25 years, gradually establishing himself as a successful manager of high-end restaurants.
The Sherman Oaks location has already been deemed a place for “near-certain celebrity sightings in Los Angeles” by Eater, due in part to its emphasis on elaborate entrees and signature luxurious decor (thanks to designer and Corben’s wife Alexxa Corben). BLVD Steak currently serves a variety of dishes, “from seafood towers and caviar service to classic cuts and A5 wagyu,” according to its website.
There’s no word yet on whether chef Adam Titze will also helm the 4799 Commons Way Calabasas location, but according to a profile in Santa Monica Seafood, Titze has been inspired since preparing holiday meals with his grandmother to “pursue his love for food on an even grander scale.”
