Amid the buzz that generates from a new Trader Joe’s opening virtually anywhere in SoCal and the latest meme-worthy offering from Erewhon, another grocery store with a cult following that’s more “quiet luxury” is about to unveil in Hollywood: Bristol Farms.
Locavores, and everyone who’s fed up with the cramped and odd layout of the Trader Joe’s on Vine Street, can rejoice as a new Bristol Farms store is opening on the corner of Selma Avenue and Argyle Street at 6220 Selma Ave, just a block behind said Trader Joe’s and two blocks from the Hollywood-Vine Metro station. The new store is on the street level of Modera Argyle Apartments, fully turning it into a mixed-use development that is also near transit.
Bristol Farms, dubbed a “food museum” by meme culture, is a small and upscale grocery chain that originated in Carson, California in the 1980s. Emphasizing a locally-based supply chain with an old school neighborhood butcher shop feel, Bristol Farms quickly grew in popularity and gained momentum among the discerning LA customer base.
Bristol Farms’ new location is very strategic to serve both Hollywood residents in the nearby apartment complexes, and the heavy foot traffic from tourists and commuters. The store is slated to open in late August or early September of 2025.
