Ricardo Legorreta is a Mexican architect with a rich portfolio of impressive properties. This home stands as a testament to his remarkable design legacy. Renowned for creating opulent residences in Mexico and Central America, Legorreta also left an indelible mark on the Los Angeles architectural scene. His influence extends beyond private residences, having designed notable public spaces such as the Tustin Market Place retail center in Tustin and the redesign of Pershing Square Park in downtown Los Angeles.

In examining the architectural landscape of Los Angeles, Legorreta’s work reflects the history of the city itself. His unique touch brings forth a fusion of Mexican aesthetics and contemporary design, contributing to a rich tapestry of influences that define LA’s architectural and cultural diversity.

Even with its multi-million-dollar valuation, 470 Layton Way is currently priced $13 million less than the most expensive home sold in the Brentwood neighborhood. However, it is still undoubtedly among some of the highest-priced properties in the area. David Solomon, a Douglas Elliman agent who recently sold another Legorreta home in Brentwood, shares his thoughts with The Real Deal:
“A top-tier home in the higher-end neighborhoods of Brentwood could easily hit the $20 million to $30 million range. A true trophy home can easily hit $50 million, as we saw with the home that Scooter Braun bought.”

Solomon concludes that this home is most likely priced higher because it is almost double the square footage of many Brentwood trophy homes, which usually measure 10,000 to 14,000 square feet. The sweeping 4.5 acre lot is also extremely rare in practically every neighborhood in the LA metro area.

The eight-bedroom property also offers two primary suites featuring dens, walk-in closets, and luxurious marble bathrooms. This dwelling seamlessly combines sophisticated design with a wealth of amenities, creating an inviting and luxurious living space.

From its owner history to its architectural originality, this Mexican-inspired estate has a legacy to match its showstopping appearance.
